Proactive players in the feed industry, AFCA-CIAL members contribute to providing animals with a balanced diet that ensures their growth and good state of health and, as such, their well-being.

AFCA-CIAL’s members produce and supply:

additives and functional ingredients, essential in very small quantities, they contribute to healthy and balanced nutrition.
premixtures, concentrated mixtures of additives for feed manufacturers or farmers that manufacture feed on the farm
complementary feeds, directly consumed by animals, including:
- mineral feeds for which the intake covers the requirements of animals in macro- and trace elements, vitamins
- liquid feeds rich in energy and nitrogen to enhance fodder distributed to ruminants

The scientific, technological and zootechnical expertise of AFCA-CIAL’s members ensures continuous innovation for feed manufacturers and animal sectors by integrating societal expectations and environmental requirements.

A major economic weight

The animal nutrition supplement and additive and functional ingredients manufacturing industry is characterised by a large number of players of different sizes, from SMEs to international groups that make up an important economic fabric throughout France.

While the animal product market is declining in France, the other world countries are continuing to develop their livestock industries. Thus, the export activity is significant for sector companies, with service companies generating almost 40% of their revenue abroad.

Our members

Almost 130 companies or groups involved in the animal feed sector are members of AFCA-CIAL. New members desiring industrial representation and seeking an information relay in the face of an increasingly technical and regulated industry join regularly.

Individually or under the aegis of AFCA-CIAL, the member companies commit to feed safety and sustainability approaches, and develop R&D and innovation programmes in the area of nutrition & health. They pay specific attention to the expectations of their customers and society in a spirit of sustainable development for breeding and quality of the animal products offered to consumers.
